One of the whole and half step intervals worksheets. The whole and half step interval worksheets build on the capabilities gained by completing the note recognition materials. As well as being required to identify specified notes the text based questions ask learners to name notes a specified interval above and below the originally identified one (which is precisely the requirement for the next stage of theory which is building scales?).

Below is the text only worksheet which students should complete without access to any visual aids whatsoever. In doing so they will be obliged to think about the names and locations of notes and will as a result develop a “joined up” knowledge base with regard to the basics of music theory?
